Dream Boyz finally accept apologies from Tino

Singing crew Dream Boyz have officially accepted an apology issued by MC Tino, for alleging that the duo did not deserve to win this year’s edition of Primus Guma Guma Super Star. The radio presenter had drawn criticisms from all corners when he said that Dream Boyz had nothing in special to show for the last two years. He later withdrew his remarks and issued a public statement on the matter and at one point he said that his words were taken out of context.

Tino, who will be the MC at the road shows which will kick off on 11th May 2013, had sought to clarify on the matter, insisting that he gave a piece of his mind as an individual and not as the MC. But his words fell on deaf ears as the irate Platini, one of the crew members, described his behavior as unacceptable and totally demeaning. At the time he had said, “How can he start judging us when in the real sense he will be the MC at our road shows? That shows that he will be totally biased.”

When things finally got out of hand, Tino decided to issue an apology, although it took long before the Dream Boyz could actually accept. Platini was heard as saying, “When someone asks for forgiveness and they do it from the bottom of their heart, then you have to forgive them. We have talked about the issue and we have accepted his apology. Now we can focus on the upcoming road shows. We want to entertain our fans and hopefully we will make it far.”

Chances have been increased for this year’s contestants, with those getting cash rewards being increased to five while in previous editions, only the winner would go home with a cash prize of 24m Rwf.
