Gospel singer Bahati scoops groove award in Kenya

Local gospel artist Alphose Bahati won an award as the best gospel artist of the year 2012 in Rwanda from Kenya’s Groove awards on Sunday 2nd June.

The award was received by Patrick Kanyamibwa of Morieh Entertainment Group, who later passed it to Bahati on his arrival at Kigali International Air port.

While receiving the award, singer Bahati appreciated the honor to his work and thanked his supporters.

“The category had strong musicians but I thank God that I managed to win the race” says Bahati.

He added that I had worked hard for real but I couldn’t think of winning the award because other nominees had a good reputation in gospel music.

Groove awards are only entitled to East African artists but only those making gospel music.

The 8th Groove awards nominees from Rwanda included Theo Uwirigiyemana, Patience Bizimana, Gabby, Tonzi and Lillia
