Kigali UP festival to improve Rwandan music industry

Rwanda is set to witness another music festival dubbed Kigali Up music festival 3nd edition which aims at boosting and expanding Rwandan music across the region.

Kigali up music festival is organised and sponsored by Positive Production Company and it is set to kick off on 13th-14th July this month at Stadium Amahoro Remera.

The festival will be graced by various artists from different countries like France, Burundi, Mali,USA, Canada and Rwanda which will be performing live music using local music instruments.

“The festival is about expanding Rwanda’s music talents as well as promoting young artists in the music industry as well as highlighting challenges facing the music industry,”  Singer and organizer, Mighty Popo explains.

He added that the first two editions of the festival had some challenges like security all has been sorted.

Mostly Rwandan artists living abroad will perform at the festival, the likes of  Nirere Shannel(France), Nicole Musoni (Canada) Blake (USA) and Koite&Habib from Mali.

Rwandan home based artists to perform include; Jay Polly, Riderman, Mani Martin, Makanyaga, Impala crew and many others.
