East Africa’s gospel star and song writer Dominic Ashimwe Nic revealed that he will no longer participate in any music related competition as well as groove awards ceremony again in order to get much time to spread the word of God.
This comes after the singer was questioned by media and music fans in general why he decided to quit anything to do with music competitions and awards ceremonies.
“I simply can’t serve two masters, so am done with music related competitions and awards because I want to serve my God only,” said Dominic to KT Radio’s entertainment show KT Idols.
He added that, groove awards project is a vital initiative which aims at developing gospel industry but it’s not my thing anymore.
Groove awards are only entitled to East African artists but only those making gospel music and this year’s edition voting has already started online.
Dominic prides more than 10 accolades locally and regionally as the best gospel star.
He is also famous for staging free of charge concerts everywhere in the country.
The singer has also shared stage with gospel music icons like Judith Babirye, Rose Muhando as well as performing in various countries.
He boasts of songs like Gukora neza, Ingoma ya Yesu and many more.
