The crew is said to have impressed during their performances, but rumours immediately started doing rounds in the entertainment arena that they were seeking asylum in Europe. This sent a wave of panic across their fans and fellow musicians back at home.
In many ways, the rumors were largely plausible because prior to the crew’s departure, Mani Martin had returned from performing at Francophonie Festival in France where four members of his band run away without his knowledge.
This incident also prompted the Ministry of Culture and Sports to release a statement that it would impose many restrictions that would make it difficult for young artists to be granted visas to overseas.
Confirmed reports from the crew, however, indicate that Urban Boyz will be jetting in the country very soon. They however will go back to pursue unfinished projects in Europe.
Among those projects, the crew says is recording a song with Rwanda’s Corneille who lives in Europe. They will also shoot their video immediately to avoid delaying their return plans.
