With just over a week left before Tanzanian star Diamond jets in the country, Mico The Best has reignited the furor that had long been forgotten regarding a debt that the former owes him.
On 15th February, Mico was to launch his first album entitled Umutaka, in which he had invited the Bongo star to feature as the main guest.
According to Mico, a down payment of $6,000 was made to Diamond but when the day of the album launch came, he failed to turn up. The disappointment on people’s faces after the concert was evident as many claimed they had been taken for a ride. But now Mico says he has the opportunity to reclaim his money.
Addressing the media, he talked of how difficult it has been to get in touch with Diamond as efforts to contact him have been futile.
He said: “Let him come, but I can assure you that he won’t leave this country if he doesn’t pay me back my money. Six thousand dollars is a lot of money but what is saddening is that he stole from the Rwandan people.”
It is expected that Diamond, together with other stars that include former Tusker Project Fame finalist Msechu will perform at Expo Grounds in Gikondo in a concert dubbed Kigoma All Stars On Friday 20th December 2013.
