Female rapper Ciney will grace this year’s Ndule Awards in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo. The female star will be joined by other artists from Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and other regional artists.
Whereas her counterpart Masamba Intore declined the invitation, Ciney says she finds no reason at all to turn down such an opportunity. Masamba had refused to attend the award ceremony citing security concerns in Congo and other political reasons, but Ciney finds no problem at all. She said, “I can’t turn down an invitation from our neighbors.”
Ndule Awards is an annual ceremony that takes place in Congo, the awards are meant to recognize efforts of musicians throughout the year, placed in different categories, be it in secular or gospel music.
