The song Fata Fata is hitting the airwaves unstoppably and being played in every single hangout joint – and deservedly so. The success it has enjoyed cannot be undermined whatsoever. And DJ Zizou, writer and composer of the song, says as a way of promoting it further, a tour dubbed Fata Fata will be organized in February in order to bring the singers closer to their fans.
The tour will also come just a month before the annual Salax Music Awards are held, which Zizou hopes will see the song scoop the title of the song of the year. Speaking to the media he said, “I know this song is well appreciated by Rwandans all over and I hope it will emerge victorious at Salax Awards.”
Zizou’s other composition Bagupfusha Ubusa won the same accolade a year ago, but this time round things look a bit different. Pundits have pointed out that the song’s beat is said to have been stolen and that has drawn a lot of criticism towards Zizou for not being original in the composition.
But despite all the negativity, Zizou feels it all comes down to how the public views his compositions. He added, “It’s unfair not to accept that this song has become a hit all over the country. The criticisms do not reflect how the public has appreciated it.”
Fata Fata was sung by Urban Boyz, Jay Polly, Uncle Austin and former Tusker Project Fame contestant Teta.
