Veteran music producer Barrick has revealed that he was happy with the way this year’s nominations at Salax Music Awards were carried out.
Barrick was among the music producers who had a say in the voting of the contestants with club deejays, music producers and journalists all taking part in the six-hour exercise that took place at Hill Top Hotel on Sunday 12th January.
The BMCG music studio boss was among the first to commend that the exercise had run smoothly adding that it gives a picture of a better future in music. He said, “I think the way artists were placed in different categories merits applause. There was no cheating whatsoever and for me those who were nominated fully deserve to be there.”
However Barrick’s views may sharply contrast with those of singer Kamichi, who questioned the integrity of organizers of the annual awards when he posted on his Facebook account that he couldn’t understand why King James’ hit song Ni iki Utabona didn’t make it in any of the categories.
Another prominent figure who didn’t receive any nomination is Dr. Jiji who has had a successful year releasing five videos and numerous audio tracks.
