Afro beat singer Kitoko has refuted claims that he’s fled away from Rwanda and that he is seeking asylum in Europe where he has been for the last one month. Kitoko, who flew out in December 2012, originally set off to Belgium but reports indicate that he’s in France now where he will be doing numerous shows.
Kitoko explained that he intends to popularize his music and by doing a tour in the whole of France where there is a large Rwandan Diaspora, he would maximize the chances of doing so. The star is expected to return to Belgium before 1st February, the day Rwanda celebrates National Heroes Day. On this day Kitoko will perform in Bruxelles at a newly opened joint called Missed Call Club as a way of officially inaugurating it. Here he will play his songs live, get a chance to mingle with his fans abroad as well as sign autographs.
It is expected that Kitoko will then return to the country after successfully completing his tour.
