The newly crowned Miss Rwanda Colombe Akiwacu vowed to fight against drugs and its effects in youth her priority plan as Miss Rwanda 2014.
The 19 year old from Eastern province was crowned as Miss Rwanda 2014 on Saturday 22nd at Petit Stadium Amahoro in Remera.
Speaking to Rwandashow.com, Miss Akiwacu promised to advocate for the elimination of drug abuse especially in schools.
“It’s a dream come true to be the first Miss Rwanda from Eastern province and I will use the opportunity to campaign for elimination of drug abuse especially in schools,” says Miss Rwanda Colombe Akiwacu.
Akiwacu added that, I will work hand in hand with journalists and the government to promote Rwandan culture locally and internationally.
The pretty lady who hopes to join University soon and pursue a degree in Computer sciences was treated to loud cheers as her name was mentioned to crown her the overall winner.
The former Miss Rwanda 2013 Miss Aurore Mutesi urged the newly crowned Miss to always fight for the betterment of her country and society in general as a role model for many youths.
Miss Akiwacu out competed 14 beauty contestants and was awarded Rwf2million, air line tickets to Spain and France and a brand new Nissan saloon car.
