Local R&B songbird, Queen Cha has urged fellow Rwandan females to venture into music. Female artists are still few, compared to their male counterparts in the Rwanda music industry.
“It’s not that girls can’t sing, they are often stopped by culture and parents from joining music. It’s our obligation as artists to explain the good side of music,” advises the Diva.
Queen Cha calls on Rwandan parents to respect and support daughters with talent, when they choose to take music to another level.
Reasons for the music industry lacking girls include family background and promoters demanding sex from upcoming artists.
Rwanda boasts of female artists like, Knowless, Queen Cha, Young Grace, Ciney Paccy and Shanel.
Queen Cha hit fame through Ibisumizi recording label. She boasts of songs like; Umwe Rukumbi, featuring rapper Riderman and Kizimyamoto.,
