As Rwanda’s finest music competition Primus Guma Guma super star season four approaches the end, seven contestants evicted on Saturday July 12th made it clear that rapper Jay Polly is likely to win the competition.
The artists evicted include Christopher, Ama G, Active group, Teta Diana, Senderi, Young Grace and Sentore.
Unlike in the previous seasons whereby evicted artists would blame organizers for being corrupt and favoring some artists, this year the evicted musicians blamed the eviction on their bad luck and vowed to support their favorite artists still in the competition.
“That’s how the competition is supposed to be but the winner among the three contestants is rapper Jay Polly,” said Ama G the Black who was evicted from the competition.
“Jay Polly is likely to win this year’s guma guma competition among the saved three contestants,” says Teta Diana one of the evicted contestants known for her good voice
Primus Guma Guma super star season four started on 22nd March with 10 contestants and after four months contestants doing various road shows only three artists were nominated to compete for the trophy until 30th July.
The nominated three contestants to compete for the first place to win Primus Guma Guma season four include Bruce Melody, Dream Boyz and rapper Jay.
Although most of the contestants evicted were satisfied by the eviction method, some rumors have already hit the tabloids that some artists might not again contest for the 5th edition in 2015.
Last year, musicians like rapper Bull Dog and Senderi blamed the organizers of Primus Guma Guma EAP and Bralirwa for being corrupt after their elimination from the competition.
Guma Guma season four kicked off on 22nd March with the first road show in Rusizi and is slated to end on 30th this month.
According to the organizers, evicted contestants were urged to keep on soliciting votes from their fans until the competition ends because all ten contestants will be awarded based on their positions.
The competition aims at promoting local music industry as well as promoting Primus beer brand across the country.
The competition started way back in 2011 and the first season was scooped by singer Tom Close while King James won the second edition last year.
