All roads lead to Serena Hotel Kigali this Saturday 2nd March 2013 as the ten contestants of the coveted Primus Guma Guma Super Star will be officially unveiled. Late last month a selected crew of journalists affiliated to showbiz in Rwanda had a difficult time in a pre-selection exercise that lasted almost a whole day, and come the D-day only ten of those will be shortlisted to commence the competition.
Already some artists have started to feel the heat, with a few pondering to boycott the exercise that will start at 8.00pm. It has been strongly mooted that there’s a likelihood of new faces appearing for the third edition of the reality TV show and that surprises are likely to befall many. Unlike last year where the pre-selection saw a total of twenty contestants battling it out in the preliminaries, this time round only ten have been selected and the so called already established musicians have started to have butterflies in their stomachs.
P-Fla, a well know figure in hip hop has been one such musician who has expressed fears that he may not appear among the contestants. The rapper who, is fresh from police custody after being arrested on suspicion of drugs, is one that many fans have been calling for to make it to stage, but if history is anything to go by, then by now everyone must know that this show brings with it astonishments more often than not. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
