Rwandan underground artistes have been placed on an alert as the sixth season of Tusker Project Fame nears its commencement. TPF is a singing competition that tries to identify untapped singing talent among the youth in which the winner goes home with whooping five million Kenyan Shillings.
Although the exact date of its commencement has not been disclosed, East African Breweries Ltd has hinted that it will start in September. In the past Rwandan artistes have excelled in the competition; with Alpha Rwirangira being the most successful after winning season three. He was also among the top three that included David and Msechu in Tusker All Stars.
Casting will take place in all the six countries that participate in the competition, that is, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan. Apart from Alpha, Jackson Kalimba, also from Rwanda managed to scoop the third place after being overrun by Ruth Natete and Doreen in season 5.
