East Africa’s most popular TV show Tusker Project Fame may have come to a close, but not the drama that came along with it.
This season’s final was particularly marked by meticulous performances by both actual and former contestants, including season five winner Ruth Matete. A lead chorister at House of Grace church in Nairobi, Matete chose to appear on stage in a mini-skirt, a development that has dominated headlines and caused commotion henceforth.
The pressure from fans and followers of the show across the region however was too much for Matete and bowed down and apologized. The star took to her Facebook and Twitter accounts to apologize, posting the following messages.
The following post on her Facebook account came barely twenty four hours after the wardrobe malfunction. …….
While the same message was posted on her Twitter account, this time more summarized.
However, former TPF Principal Achieng’ Abura has jumped to Matete’s support in total disapproval to those who condemned her for her dressing. Also through her Facebook page she posted, “Ruth Matete, you looked lovely in the white dress and moved around in it gracefully as you sang beautifully…hold your head high my dear. You cannot please everybody; you will only hurt yourself if you try. Be blessed.”
