‘New Year, new resolutions, new things. With only over twelve months of its existence, the Great Faith Christian Church, located in Kimironko Gasabo District has organized a mega music explosion and fundraising concert aimed at setting up its own church house, having previously been operating in rented premises. Started in June 2012, the church has experienced an exponential growth in terms of its congregation and time is ripe and right to move on to another level, according to co-founder Miss Rachel Kibirango.
In a telephone interview with rwandashow.com, Miss Rachel revealed that the concert was an initiative by the founders aimed at fundraising in order for the church to buy land and set up temporary structures where they will be operating. She said, “At the moment what we want to do is call on the people to contribute so that we can buy a piece of land. From there we can erect temporary structures where we will be operating in the mean time. Since last year we have been using rented premises, which hasn’t been easy.”
Miss Rachel also added that the fundraising was not targeting a specific amount of money, saying that those who will come will have to chip in with whatever they have. She said, “In order to achieve our targets we organized this concert so that those who will come will part with something as a contribution. As such we do not have a fixed amount of money as our target.
The concert shall take place at Christian Life Assembly in Kimironko on January 1st 2014 from 2pm to7.30pm. Artists such as Arsene Manzi, Liliane Kabaganza, Nelson Mucyo and Ugandan songbird Judith Babirye will grace the concert, while entrance will be 10,000Rwf and 5,000Rwf for adults and children respectively.
