PGGSS organiser cause more confusion as announcement delays

While it was expected that the preliminary 15 contestants of Primus Guma Guma Super Star would be made public on Monday 24th February 2014, organizers of the country’s biggest reality TV show have announced a delay in revealing the results.


According to the management of East African Promotions (EAP), who, in partnership with BRALIRWA, are responsible for the organization of the event, the tallying of the votes is still going on and the public have been urged to remain calm.


On Friday 21st February is when journalists, deejays, music producers and all other persons affiliated to music industry voted for the artists that will be appearing in the competition for the fourth time running.


It had been announced that the names would be made public the following week, but there has been a delay according to Mushyomo Joseph, Managing Director of EAP.


He said: “We want the exercise to run as smoothly as possible, that’s why we are taking our time. We are asking the public to remain calm and confident that the exercise will be transparent.”


Fifteen artists who will be nominated will compete in a live concert on 15th March 2014 at Gikondo Expo Ground where a judge-bench will pick out the ten that will compete in the four-month long competition.
